HARLINGTON SPINNEY

Easy short , flat walk centring on village of Harlington taking in small wood.  OS Explorer 193

Route

Begin in Village Hall Car Park, follow the car park round into New Grounds past the Scout Hut and Pavillion.  Go straight ahead across the edge of the field.

At the corner of the field of New Grounds turn left and follow the edge of the field (hedgerow on right) all the way along aiming for the Spinney.

At the corner of the field enter the Spinney.  You will reach post number 6 – follow  straight ahead; post 7 – straight ahead; post 8 – turn left around the edge of the Spinney.  Keep walking along the edge of the Spinney.  About half way along, before you get to the end of the Spinney (to avoid the steep hill out) turn left to post 10.  Take a gap in the trees back through into New Grounds.

In New Grounds continue to follow the edge of the field in anticlockwise direction;  turn left and then shortly afterwards turn right through a gap in the trees to enter Bury Orchard.  (Church straight ahead).  When in Bury Orchard turn right and follow edge of field all the way round to the tarmac path.  There are two seats by pond.  Take tarmac path all the way to the edge of Bury Orchard and enter Church Road.  Turn left, pass Parish Hall.  Reach crossroads, turn left and Village Hall Car Park is on your left.
