Walks in the Harlington Area
I am aiming to create below a list of walks around the area of Harlington, Beds – “Bloom Where you are Planted”. They will all be within a ten mile radius of this beautiful village with its Bunyan connections. If anyone has any queries at all in connection with the routes I am more than happy to answer them. My e mail address is jackiemcall@hotmail.co.uk

Even if I have a guidebook or leaflet to hand I always take an appropriate OS Map with me when out walking as I like to see the larger picture of the landscape. (Still a geographer at heart!) For those not used to map reading – it really is very easy nowadays. All the new OS maps can be downloaded on a mobile phone and as long as you have internet connection, a very helpful little arrow shows up on your map to show where you are. It is almost impossible to get lost (I believe!). Also, whilst walking in the Harlington area there are two unmistakable landmarks which will nearly always be within your sight – Pulloxhill Water Tower and Sharpenhoe Clappers – if you take your bearings from these you should be fine.
Please stay safe; carry water and a phone and first aid kit. Let someone know where you are if you intend to be out for long and please, please follow the Countryside Code – let’s respect the farmers’ land and crops and take our litter home.
