Harlington circular via Dyers Hall Farm

Walk from village into open countryside, beautiful views across to The Clappers.  OS Explorer 193

Leave VH Car Park, turn left down Sundon Road.  Down the hill, cross Park Leys and take footpath on right.  Follow footpath signs, across field, through kissing gate; continue through three more kissing gates. Turn right into field and walk along field edge (hedge on left).  At next kissing gate, turn right towards railway.

Walk up to the corner of this field, turn left and walk along field edge.  Continue on following the field edge as it bears slightly right.  Follow round and eventually just before the next field and at the footpath sign (you may have to hunt for it; it has fallen into ditch) , turn left, and walk up this field edge, keeping hedge on your right.

You eventually come to the farm.  Bear right, keep farm buildings on left.  Follow footpath sign alongedge of field (pigs on left).    ALL DOGS TO BE ON LEADS.

After pigs, follow footpath sign and continue to bear left.  Straight across field (hedge on right).  Pass pond on right.   Eventually cross Sundon Road and over to the Bottoms.

Walk along the Bottoms for a while.  Left at green footpath sign (St Mary’s Church – 1 Mile).  Straight up field (hedge on right); turn right, straight across long field.  Through gap in hedge as far as apple tree on left.  Keep straight across field.  Bear slightly right up hill with Spinney on your left. On reaching main road bear left and take the footpath across Bury Orchard towards the Church and V H Car Park.

Lovely to see these walks; down under we are still pretty much locked down. And what beautiful pigs; I don’t think I’ve seen spotty ones like that before!

I am so lucky to have them on my doorstep. Walking has been my saving grace during the pandemic. Hoping that you are able to get out?
